1．国际传播媒介与人种学结合的研究出现在1990年代初期，到20世纪末后逐渐升温，近年来成为媒介研究的活跃地带。
2．无论从作者属地和所涉及的地域来看，美英两国都处于主导地位。发展中国家的人种学研究不再是传播人种学的焦点，对印度社会的论述保持着连续性，对中国社会的研究相对薄弱，并表现出明显的断裂性。
3．宽泛的大众传媒是研究的核心，新媒介研究比较活跃，而对传统媒介的研究相对冷淡，表明传播人种学仍处于学术研究的边缘地带。
4．主题域方面，一般理论、全球化/本土化和性别研究是热点，种族主义、民主/政治和特殊“族群”研究可能是中国问题的突破区域。
5．传播人种学论文在国际刊物上的发表阵地很多，而且易于被SSCI收录，尤其是有关人类学/人种学的研究容易被收录。
6．在国际传播人种学研究逐渐升温，而中国这一方面研究相当薄弱的情况下，针对国际刊物写作关于中国问题的论文，既具有突破意义，又能够带来现实影响。

Active Margin: The Statistical Analysis of
International Study on Communication Ethnography

Abstract: We choose the international signify articles on the relation between mass media and ethnography as the object file, and then analyze the data concretely about the distributing of the authors’ working places, the areas, the dates, the media involved and the subject fields, etc. We generalize the study pulse and hotspot recently, and the advance and the foreground of our communication research in this field.
